Leadership shakeups at Eminence Schools

EMINENCE — Big leadership changes are coming to the Eminence Community School District in the new year.
The biggest shakeups in January will see a new superintendent joining the district, and the departure of the current elementary school principal.
Current district superintendent, Wes Hammond, is retiring after 47 years in education and three years in the top position at Eminence. In his farewell letter to the district, Hammond said he always intended to work until his 70th birthday, which passed in October. He said he now intends to focus his energies on his family and spend time with his grandchildren.
“I can’t think of a better place to end my career and start a new chapter in my life,” Hammond said. “I wish you all the best and I am proud that I had the chance to be an Eel!”
In to replace Hammond at the helm is Dr. Jeff Bond, announced as the new leader at this past school board meeting.
