MONROVIA — The Monrovia Town Council couldn’t have possibly finished 2024 without getting into a few more arguments.
When the body met for its monthly meeting last Tuesday, the agenda mostly consisted of routine housekeeping to prepare for the new year. But the council didn’t allow hum drum government business to get in the way of some good bickering.
One moment, toward the end of the nearly two-hour meeting, involved resident and redevelopment commission member Michael Conner urging the council to purchase microphones so those watching the meeting online could hear what was going on.
“I tried to do a Zoom last week for the plan commission meeting,” Conner said. “Video was on; there was no sound.”
“Yeah, we have the same issue tonight,” council vice president Carol Youngblood said.
