MONROVIA — A thousand homes are expected to come to Monrovia over the next decade, and the Monroe-Gregg school board is preparing for an influx of new students.
The district’s existing buildings are already at or near full capacity, and the growth coming to the town will require efforts to invest in additional space to meet Monroe-Gregg’s needs.
With these upcoming challenges in mind, the school board held a work session last Thursday night to hear presentations from six architectural firms regarding a district-wide facility study. The firms’ representatives each had 20 minutes to pitch their ideas about the future of Monroe-Gregg, which included making recommendations pertaining to potential upgrades to the district’s current facilities, and even possibly building new ones.
