Shockley

MORGAN COUNTY — Morgan County Superior Court I Judge Dakota VanLeeuwen has denied allowing Trinity Shockley to bond out of the Morgan County Jail.
The order to deny bond will remain in place until Shockley is examined by two court appointed psychologists and the judge, state, and defense has reviewed their reports.
Shockley, 18, a senior at Mooresville High School, has been accused of planning a mass shooting at the school on Valentine’s Day. Someone called the FBI tip line to report her, which started the investigation that led to her Feb. 12 arrest.
Shockley has been charged with Conspiracy to Commit Murder-Does Not Result in Death, a level 2 felony, and two counts of Intimidation-Threat to commit terrorism, both level 5 felonies.
The judge held a bond hearing Feb. 18 to hear the state’s request for the judge to either deny bond or make it so high she could not afford to bond out.
