Letter to the Editor: No new gerrymandering — uh, redistricting

  1. Letter to the Editor:
    Eliminate Mail-in Voting
Recently, Trump started the rumor mill going that he would give an executive order to eliminate mail-in voting, so fraud in elections will not be so prevalent. To date, whether it is a voter booth or mail-in ballot, our elections have never been more secure than now. Both parties on the U.S. Election Assistance Committee have confirmed that. Rumors to the opposite are just what they are, rumors. No evidence has ever been substantiated there has been fraud. 47 million people in 2024 voted by mail-in or absentee ballot in the U.S. Some states use only mail-in ballots so all people have the opportunity to vote. Measures have already been put in place, in many states to do away with polls in some areas, making it more difficult for people to vote. Eliminating mail-in ballots is just another way to keep people who want to vote but can’t get to the polls for numerous reasons from exercising that right. Now is the time to let your congressman both federal and state know that putting this into law is not acceptable. Your voice does count.
