MARTINSVILLE — The Martinsville Plan Commission met last Tuesday night at Martinsville City Hall with two items on the agenda.
After much consideration and discussion, the commission approved the design of the marquee for the new theater on Morgan Street. In the early 20th century, the building was the home of the Blackstone Theater. It was later changed into an office building. The building was purchased and is being remodeled back into a theater.
The building is located in Martinsville’s historic district, and any changes must be approved by the plan commission.
