MONROVIA — The rumors are true: a data center could be on its way to Morgan County.
The Morgan County Plan Commission will hold a public hearing Feb. 10 to consider a petition on behalf of the Morgan County Economic Development Corp. (EDC) seeking to rezone nearly 391 acres of land from agricultural to planned unit development (PUD).
The land is located in Monroe Township just east of Monrovia’s town limits. The combined 18 parcels are positioned north of Ind. 42, east of West Union Church Road, south of Keller Hill Road and west of Antioch Road.
Mike Dellinger of the Morgan County EDC confirmed to The Correspondent that the land is planned to be the location of an eventual data center, with the initial filings calling it the Morgan County Data Center I Project.
