MOORESVILLE — Property taxes, Medicaid and education dominated discussion between Morgan County’s three state legislators and an audience that sometimes pushed back at Saturday’s Third House event at the Mooresville Government Center.
State Sen. Rodric Bray (R-Martinsville, D37) and State Reps. Peggy Mayfield (R-Martinsville, D60) and Craig Haggard (R-Mooresville, D57) gave status updates and answered questions. The forum was sponsored by the Mooresville Chamber of Commerce, and Treg Hopkins moderated.
At just past halfway in the current General Assembly session, about 400 bills remain in play, a third of the number filed. Both chambers of the legislature are scheduled to adjourn on or before April 29. Bills pass...
